I wonder if, in English, the word “heart” is so far from Hebrew “Leb” that we should find another word now. Just S maybe we need to render “agape” as “charity” again in a world where “love” means same sex relationships. Agape is not Eros. “Love” is not “Love.”

In another interesting twist, the Septuagint translation of Jeremiah 17:9 gives a different meaning by rendering it as "The heart is deep beyond all things, and it is the man, and who can know him?". https://www.ellopos.net/elpenor/greek-texts/septuagint/chapter.asp?book=44&page=17
